At age 38, Taylor is already a multi-millionaire. He completed the rags-to-riches transformation through investing in real estate, retail, and hospitality businesses. While admired and proud of his success, he seemed feeling restless and empty. As if there was a deep sense of loneliness that haunted him, every night, he would entertain clients, friends and beautiful women with fancy dinner which cost on average 10,000 of local currency, more than most people’s life savings. Self-indulging in eating, drinking and entertainment until 2 or 3 o’clock in the morning is literally his second job. Such lifestyle lasted for nearly 3 years until he was diagnosed with terminal cancer.
The doctor told him that he had 3 more months to live. Devastated, he couldn’t accept this news. Subconsciously, he had believed that money gave him unlimited power and he could buy anything he wanted. Now, he understood that all the money he had couldn’t buy him health or extended life on earth. Nevertheless, he wanted to live. Two days before he was going to fly away to visit the best doctor in the world, someone gave him a video on CD and told him that it might save his life. He immediately watched it. The content of the video shook him to the core. He sat in the same room for a whole week contemplating his life, completely ignored his travel and the doctor’s appointment.
The video explained how the body worked and how physical diseases are usually the result of negative emotions and toxic lifestyle, exactly the way he had it. He understood that his cancer was his own creation. Fortunately, the video offered him hope. It cited examples of how water molecules change shapes in respond to thoughts and words – kind vs nasty words. At the end of the week, he began to follow the video’s suggestion and started his journey of redemption. Every day, he spoke to his body and asked it for forgiveness. One by one, he acknowledged his wrong doings from the past and promised with all sincerity to put his acts together in the future.
Several months later, his hospital check-up brought him exciting news. Miraculously, he was cancer-free. Not only that, even the high blood pressure and stomach ulcer that used to cause him so much suffering disappeared. His wife thought that he went crazy when she heard the news until she saw the health report herself. Taylor felt like that he just woke up from a terrible nightmare. He realized that every day he is alive, from this point on, is a bonus from the Universe and he was determined to make it purposeful and fulfilling.
While he was fighting with cancer, one of his shopping malls caught on fire and burned down. His tenants, the hundreds of small business owners, lost all of their inventory and their means for survival. Taylor decided to rebuild the mall and give all the old tenants a store space free of charge for a whole year. In addition, he would share his redemption journey with all of his employees and encourage them to do the same. His company culture visibly changed. Employees who used to take bribes from their suppliers or backstab their colleagues no longer do so. Their own health, family and work relationships as well as job performances have all improved. They grew kinder, humbler and more grateful.
Besides his employees, Taylor used every opportunity to share his life story and teach his method of self-healing to his tenants, the small business owners, and customers visiting his properties by distributing booklets and inviting them to free seminars. They understand now how important it is to conduct themselves with moral values and to love themselves unconditionally. A completely changed man, Taylor never knew that life can be this fulfilling and joyful. He now has the best health ever, pursues a whole new purpose in life. While giving away money generously, he saw his businesses generate profit faster than ever. Through his own experience and actions, he has created a virtuous cycle of living with kindness and integrity, influencing more people every day while nourishing his own soul.
Now, one more story about miraculous healing, but this time, on psychological issues. There is ward of a public hospital that specializes in treating insane criminals, who have committed murders, rapes and robberies. It is a dangerous place to work because inmate-patients often violently attack the nurses and doctors even with shackles on. Staffs often claimed sick and not came to work. This situation was about to change when a new psychiatrist Dr. Stanley came onboard. While most people expected him to last no more than a month before quitting, Dr. Stanley didn’t meet their “expectations”. Come to work relaxed and smiling every day, he didn’t seem to work hard. Other than occasionally asking for the inmate-patients’ files, he never treated them personally.
Instead, he quietly performed a simple Hawaiian healing method called Ho’oponopono by reciting these 4 phrases: I love you, I’m sorry, please forgive me, and thank you. Very soon, the staff saw visible changes. The patients are less violent even after their medicine was reduced. Instead of considering it a place to avoid, nurses and doctors began to return to work. The facility looked more organized and cleaner. It seems that everyone wanted to make it a more pleasant place to recover and to work. Gradually the staff joined the effort and started practicing Ho’oponopono themselves. One by one, patients are recovered and released. After 4 years, the facility had to shut down because there was no need for it.
The logic behind Ho’oponopono is that we are all part of Oneness, therefore, we are fully responsible for everything we see or experience. This includes wars and other people’s crimes. Even though we didn’t cause them or directly participate in the acts, we are responsible. At least we are responsible for undoing the damage. By reciting those 4 phrases, we acknowledge our responsibility in creating the situation and give energy to correct it without analyzing whose fault it is. This method is simple and highly effective. In fact, highly effective methods are always simple. We can use Ho’oponopono on many types of issues, including health, relationship, financial issues or mental issues such as depression.
Above two stories are both real life stories. The connection between miracles and forgiveness is explained in a book called “A Course in Miracles”, which reveals the why and how to create miracles through taking responsibilities and asking for forgiveness. Asking for forgiveness is the most effective way to confront our own ego and to raise consciousness. There are only two conditions to experiencing desired result – have faith in it and take persistent actions.
Now, you know how simple it is to heal yourself and to create miracles. Start your practice!
